ABC Four Corners Report on 23 February 2015

Last night’s ABC TV Four Corners program raised serious questions about the Job Services Australia system and some providers.

The Salvation Army Employment Plus was mentioned in relation to incidents which occurred in 2005. Those matters were thoroughly investigated at the time and dealt with to the Government’s full satisfaction and no individual was found guilty of fraud.

Since then Employment Plus have put in place much tighter internal processes to ensure that similar mistakes cannot be repeated, and a subsequent Government audit in 2012, which examined a number of providers including Employment Plus, found no similar grounds for concern.

As an organisation Employment Plus strenuously rejects any allegation it deliberately defrauded or overcharged the Commonwealth. Any attempt to suggest otherwise is unjustified, unfair and inaccurate.

Employment Plus has stringent policies & procedures relating to fees claimed from the Government, which were tested as part of our ISO9001 certification, and we enjoy a positive, transparent relationship with the Department of Employment.

All Employment Plus staff remain committed to providing job seekers with the skills and assistance to secure sustainable employment.
