The Salvation Army finalises contract with Department of Immigration and Citizenship

The Salvation Army Australia Eastern Territory has now executed a contract to provide humanitarian support services at the Regional Processing Centres in Nauru and Manus Island.

The one year contract allows for provisions currently estimated by DIAC of up to AUD 74.8 million.

This contract is 100% funded by the Australian government. No funds from regular Salvation Army donors will be used for these services.

The Salvation Army will continue in its role of caring for asylum seekers by providing emotional support, humanitarian assistance and general education and recreation programs. Dealing with vulnerable and needy people, The Salvation Army has dedicated staff working in frontline positions with asylum seekers in Nauru and Manus Island regional processing centres.
