At Sydney City Salvos we’re here to offer a safe, welcoming space for anyone in our inner-city community. Whether you’re looking for connection, guidance or community, you’re always welcome here. We’re one community across three vibrant locations: Surry Hills (formerly known as Streetlevel Mission), Waterloo Centre and Elizabeth Street, each offering unique ways to connect, find support and belong.
We open our doors to all people, whether you’re enjoying a meal or coffee, shopping at our Family Stores, taking part in a weekly program, or seeking assistance, you'll find a place of care and community.
Sydney City Salvos is a welcoming hub for those seeking connection, healing and restoration. As a faith-based community, we’re committed to living out love in action, offering practical help and spiritual care with kindness, dignity and respect.
We continue to see our city transformed, one life at a time, through the enduring love of Jesus and we’d love for you to be part of this journey.

Our church is a place where you can be yourself, connect with a family of people and begin to enjoy all that God has for you. We believe in a good God and in his goodness transforming your life.
140 Elizabeth Street, Sydney

Sunday worship, 9.30am
We gather for a time of prayer, then share in worship, reflection and encouragement to help you grow in your journey with Jesus. It’s a space to connect with God and with one another and we’d love for you to join us.
Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, our Elizabeth Street site has been part of the city’s story for over 140 years — a place of hope, connection and community through changing times.
Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or have been walking with Jesus for years, you’ll find a friendly and welcoming community here.
Following the meeting, we invite you to join us for morning tea and a chat.

Monday, 10am
Every Monday morning our chaplains host Faith Space, a relaxed and welcoming time to pause, reflect and connect.
Together we read and explore the Bible, share stories from our own journeys and take time to pray with and for each other. There’s plenty of space for questions, conversation and even a few laughs along the way.
Whether you’ve been following Jesus for many years, are just beginning to explore faith or simply enjoy meaningful connection with others, you’ll find an open seat and a warm welcome here.

Wednesday, 4pm
Looking for space in the middle of your week to pause, connect and be encouraged?
Midweek Chapel is a relaxed, inclusive gathering where we share in friendship, prayer and open conversation around God’s Word. Over a cup of tea or coffee and some snacks, we take time to listen, reflect and grow in how we live and love like Jesus.
All are welcome to stay for our Hope Dinner afterwards.

Friday, 10.45–11.45am
This group is open to people from all walks of faith as we unpack, discuss and explore Bible passages together. We gather over tea and coffee to read and reflect together.
Whether you’re new to the Bible or have been on the journey for a while, this is a welcoming space to ask questions, explore and share your experience with a supportive community.
After the Bible study we would love for you to stay and join us for a meal

Looking for something fun, social, or creative to do during the week? At Sydney City Salvos, across our three sites, we run a wide range of free activities open to everyone in the community.
Whether you’d like to meet new people, learn a new skill, or simply enjoy some time out of the house, our programs offer opportunities to connect, participate and belong. From kids and youth activities to Bible studies and social groups for adults, there’s something for all ages.

Sydney City Salvos offers three free community meals each week across our sites at Waterloo, Elizabeth Street and Surry Hills.
These meals are open to anyone doing it tough or simply looking for a warm, welcoming space to connect with others over good food.
